On September 15, 2024, in TV Asahi’s “Aiba Manabu,” Aiba-kun made a recipe for “Eggplant, Canned Tuna, and Natto Curry” as part of episode #559 “Manabu! On-site Cooking School.” In this new segment, Aiba learns directly from Chef Yoshio Nonaga from Nihonbashi Yukari, who teaches him a dish using seasonal eggplant.

Instructions
- Trim the eggplant stems and remove the calyx. Cut the eggplant in half lengthwise and then into 1-2 cm cubes.
- Without turning on the heat, place the eggplant and the canned tuna (with the oil) in a pot. Cook over medium-high heat until the eggplant softens.
- Add water, mentsuyu, and chopped curry roux (two types). Let it boil for a moment, then add natto and simmer briefly.
- Serve the curry over rice and garnish with chopped asatsuki.
